…Some of you may already be aware of the existence of this yet to be released Pokemon. It’s what Nintendo has been doing since 1995 starting first with Mew: Make 2% of the National Dex available unavailable outside promotions and of them, 98% of them are Japan-only. Or use a Game Shark, Action Replay or some other third party cheat device to hack one.
The following existing Pokemon fall into this category:
* Denotes this Pokemon is actually in the game but an external event-only key item is needed to trigger the event.
As of OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire, Deoxys is off the list. You automatically get a shot at a level 80 Deoxys at the end of the Delta Episode.
Back on topic: While I was looking at pictures for this blog, I came across a very compelling and cleverly hidden image in a previously released article clipping about the Johto, Sinnoh and Unova Legends being in Hoenn:
The highlighted text explains how the non-Hoenn legends ended up in Hoenn: Hoopa can use the power of the three rings it’s adorned with to transport things. The rings can grow to up to several miles in size, allowing it to transport island-sized things. This would explain where the Mirage Spots came from and why they change every day. Hoopa also has an alternate form though it’s unconfirmed if it’s a Mega form or not so for now, I’m not going to share the image.
For some reason, Serebii.net is not talking about it. Their usual inside source CoroCoro revealed this article last summer so you’d think they’d have pointed this out by now. They DO have all of Hoopa and Volcanion’s data archived so…yeah. My theory is they’re waiting for official confirmation as well as how to get Hoopa.
Before I forget, Diancie and Celebi were both given away during limited-time promotions last year: Diancie (comes with Mega Stone attached) in October (for OR/AS) and Celebi in February (to celebrate the North American release of Poke Bank). I got two of both since I have two 3DS consoles (WOOT!). Victini is no longer obtainable (The Liberty Ticket was a limited release and the Nintendo Wifi Connection for the Wii and DS shut down last year) and neither are the Sinnoh or Unova Event Pokemon for similar reasons. 20 years later, Nintendo has never released Mew or Jirachi outside events.
Now let’s talk about what makes legendary Pokemon so special as far as the Poke Transfer App is concerned:
This is one of the ways the Poke Transfer App filters hacked legendary Pokemon from legit ones. Legit ones will ALWAYS have the words Fateful Encounter in the description. The red words that say Pokemon Event above is the where. This is irrelevant with 90% of all Pokemon since you can manipulate the where using a number of legit methods. There’s also the fact many legit event Pokemon can’t be transferred to the 6th Gen due to what the filter looks for (Pokemon with Moves they don’t normally learn, etc.).
My goal for 2015 is to fill up 50 Boxes in the Poke Bank App across my two 3DS consoles. I don’t think I’ll need to use my Action Replay for that end as I have a Ditto in all of my 4th, 5th and 6th Gen games so…yeah. This year is going to be interesting…
